pride was so prideful. it was pridelicious. i felt proud. but i'm beet red today because i decided sunblock wasn't necessary. i'll take one extra-crispy sandy, please.

i stuck around for the festival when the parade was through. i wandered through the jungle of tables, hung out at the qcc booth in the afternoon in the shade (lotta good it did me) and then got dinner at the long beach cafe across the street and came back to listen to berlin and then danced with some friends/acquaintances. berlin was killer. what's-her-face still has a great voice. she played all the old classics, some less impressive new stuff, and a fantastic cover of m. manson's "dope show."

i made a grave parking mistake. we were down at temple and 4th grabbing breakfast and decided to leave the car there. we thought we were near the parade route, and technically we were, but at the opposite end from the designated meeting spot (ocean and orange). still, that was an entertaining walk since it was the first time i had ever been surrounded by so many lesbians i was truly in awe. and then we had the walk from there to the marina after the parade, and that wasn't bad because we had met up with a few more friends at that point and we were excited about going in. what was the true killer was the walk from the festival back to the car after ten hours of walking, standing and dancing. it took an hour and twenty minutes to get back. granted, we were walking at a relaxing pace, but still! we got our own personal tour of long beach.

hey there. yes, i know i haven't posted in forever.

i'm not sure what to make of the standing computer stations on the 2nd floor of the library. the computers are much faster than in oasis so they don't crash, but i feel weird standing and typing. like i'm in a big hurry or something, even though i'm not.

i fucked up, kids. i haven't been applying myself to my classes at all, and then a whole bunch of personal shit hit the fan this week and my attendance suffered, and now i have to go explain all my personal shit to my professors so they'll let me make the points up so i don't have to come back in the fall. it isn't pretty.

soccer isn't happening this weekend because csulb doesn't have their act together yet, which is cool, because we were kind of grasping at straws ourselves.

i have recently acquired a huge red spot on my right index knuckle, and it's sore, so i'm guessing it's a new bruise and will soon turn purple, then blue, then green, then yellow. i bruise very easily. please be gentle.

a plane crashed on our campus this morning.

i'm floaty today. i slept a wonderful 7.5 hours last night. it was wonderful especially because other than a 15 minute nap, i hadn't slept for a total of 40 hours. i was scary. but it's almost all better now.

i have a midterm today that i'm thinking about failing. it's not the best idea i've ever had, but it seems like the most convenient thing to do. i'm the "queen of convenience," so i figure, why not. worst case scenario: i take a summer school class. not the end of the world.

i'm in oasis right now, by the way, and i've decided that the mainframe sucks ass. so if you want to find me, don't bother looking for me there. i'm just a butterfly flittering away in the sunlight. or a duck waddling around outside the tsu. you decide -- i'm not concerned with the particulars.

i want to go to the beach. like, right now. my neck is cold and i want to lie on the sand and it warm up. i would go after class but i have to do some crap at home so that i can go out tonight (dinner and dancing -- yay!). so i guess it's alright, but i wish we had a beach on campus. that would be so convenient. see, it really is my mode of operation.

rock on, hard core!

so here i am in the mainframe, and my finger hurts because i have some sort of weird condition where my fingers get little bubbles that rise up to the surface, like a glass of sprite or some shit like that, and then they break and the skin gets all peely. it's not pleasant. but it's not contagious. people always ask me that. anyways, it hurts.

it also hurt this morning when i was playing guitar because the strings were pressing right on a raw area. i wish i had longer fingers. i am just not happy with my hands right now. but serious! i have a wide fretboard and f and c and all those bar chords with randomly spread fingers are tough. and i have no nails on my right hand (well, okay, i do have nails, but they're kind of pathetic, so it's easier just to say i have no nails). while they're growing out i have clear polish on them so i don't bite them, and i hate polish. but at least i get to use the happy purple swirly fender picks that dawn bought me. life is full of compromises.

annie tried to win a starburst contest a minute ago by guessing the fruit of their "mystery flavor." one of the choices was something like "sweet and sour meatballs." dude, i knew there was controversy over tomatoes, but meatballs? can't we all just get along? annie was incorrect, by the way (so she doesn't win the exciting new starburst screensaver (ohhhh, ahhhh) that could have been hers had she correctly guessed the flavors of that and 8 additional starburst/skittles brand candies), and i am of the opinion that if you're trying to pass your candy off as flavored to be something specific, it shouldn't be that hard to guess what that something is. but hey.

okay. have a good one.

"they wanna stop the ones who want prosthetic foreheads on their heads, but everybody wants prosthetic foreheads on their real heads." -they might be giants-

<lj:music>(stuck in my head:) everyday - buddy holly</lj:music>

i dropped by the gay prom last night, and everyone looked so hot! all my friends decked out in ties... damn. i would have stayed longer, but the people at the door wouldn't let us have more than 5 minutes without paying the $5 "donation" even though we just wanted adequate time to say hi without the food/drinks/pictures/etc, but hey, at least i got to come in and check it out. it looked like a lot of fun except i was sad to see annie sad... but she knows my opinion about the situation, so i won't go into it.

but last night was a riot! i went to a gay rodeo afterparty and watched all these tall white gay boys country (line and couples) dance -- plus some lesbians. i swear, seeing two women dancing country together is sooooo sexy! it's weird that i think so, considering i'm not a big fan of the music and i can't dance to save my life, but DAMN. i need to sign up for lessons.

albert cut and dyed my hair for me on friday, and i love it!! i totally disregarded EVERYONE'S advice about the length and let him go with jawline, but it's a bright, perky cut and i think it worked out fine. other than rose and my parents, who object to the colors, everyone seems to think it looks cute. and i feel cuter, so maybe i'll act more confident. :)

today i'm off to laguna beach for a picnic with some friends. it's bright and clear out right now -- i'm so happy! hopefully real life won't hit me too hard when i get home late tonight and have to write papers, because so far this weekend has been a great and completely unproductive break.

until next time...
"love like yours will surely come my way."
